Our dedicated staff of mechanical and chemical engineers design and submit our proposals using our in-house rating program, which designs coolers according to thermal and mechanical standards. We use the HYSIM process simulator to calculate properties and thermal data when it isn't readily available. As members of HTRI, we can also provide thermal ratings per HTRI, if desired.
With much of the engineering work done in advance, you get an extremely accurate representation of the final unit at the proposal stage.
Our manufacturing capabilities include header box fabrication with plug boxes, split headers for higher process temperatures, and removable covers. We produce L-tension, embedded, and extruded fintubes. These units have fan diameters ranging from 24" to as large as 168". Pressure sections are ASME code-compliant and designed to withstand pressures from 150 to 11,150 PSIG. Structural components are designed to insure the mechanical integrity of the air-cooled heat exchanger. Each unit is assembled and tested at our facility prior to shipment to ensure product quality and ease of installation.
Smithco's headquarters and facilities are located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and cover 75,000 square feet of total manufacturing capacity on 22 acres of property.
